Relief Distribution to Christian IDPs at Tagama, Samaru Kataf, Zango Kataf IDP camps, Southern Kaduna | 25th Feb 2022

TAGAMA IDP CAMP, SAMARU KATAF,
Southern Kaduna
Friday 25th February 2022

STANDING TOGETHER, IN TIMES LIKE THIS
Following our report of consistent genocidal attacks on over 14 Christian villages in Southern Kaduna, Lay Faithful Trust Foundation returned to Tagama IDP camp for another urgent intervention. The population of the IDP camp swelled by the arrival of over 3,000 displaced Christians in February 2022. Before then, the IDP camp hosted over 6,000 displaced persons.

In the attacks monitored from 4th November 2021 to 14th February 2022, 59 persons were killed while 169 houses were destroyed. Some of the affected villages are: Ungwan Ruhugo, Langson, Chibob, Atak Mawai, Sako, Kurfi, Ungwan Wakili, Zaman Dadoh, Kurmin Masara, Kurmin Masara, Atisa, Sabin Laura, Chibuk & Zaman Dado, and so on.

RELIEF
Lay Faithful Trust Foundation responded to the needs of the brethren by providing the following:
Rice
Beans
Vegetable oil
Palm oil
In addition, 85 widows were given N5,000 each.

APPEAL
Lay Faithful Trust Foundation appeals to Christians to respond to the needs of our brethren in distress. At times like this, we need to stand together.
It is written, “… and whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it …” 1 Cor. 12: 26
Every Nigerian Christian is a persecuted Christian. It will be a very powerful statement to the jihadists if Christians move massively to support the afflicted Christians. If the affected Christians are not supported, the enemies will be emboldened to treat them like orphans.
Let us not forget, “Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered.” Pro. 21: 13 Let us listen to the cry of agony of the widows, the orphans, the fatherless, and the homeless amongst us.
Each Christian in Nigeria is requested to contribute minimum N500 monthly. With sufficient funds, we can resettle the brethren in their ancestral homes and implement non-violent programs to put an end to these attacks.
