REPORT OF RELIEF DISTRIBUTION IN SOUTHERN KADUNA

Southern Kaduna: If only we agreed to hold hands …
We commence this report by appreciating the generosity of the Christians who regularly contribute funds to minister to the needs of our persecuted brethren. God bless you all and count it for you as righteousness.
The goal of this advocacy is not only to meet the needs of the persecuted brethren but to prevent the entire genocide and calamity. Unfortunately, the Church failed to hold hands.
What is going on in Nigeria, particularly in the North and Middle Belt, is distressing and a reproach. Perhaps, what can only be considered more distressing than the genocide is the apathy, the indifference, of millions of Nigerian Christians who, heard the call to support the persecuted brethren, but acted as if it is none of their business. Unfortunately, prominent in this category are many Christian leaders.
If only Nigerian Christians had agreed to hold hands as one, the senseless killings and destruction in southern Kaduna and other parts of the North and Middle Belt would have been prevented. The killings in Kaduna state have again escalated but rarely given the prominence it deserves by the mainstream media. An unidentified man circulated a distress voice note that in Giwa Local Government area of Kaduna State, over 200 people were murdered in a four-day killing spree by Fulani militia. Christians who constitute the largest demographic group amongst the indigenous ethnic nationalities in Nigeria need to re-appraise their response to these perennial attacks and realize they need to hold hands to survive. If the Christian body does not rise to meaningfully help the survivors, the killers will be emboldened to kill more people. Ultimately, those unwilling to help may also become victims in the long run.
MERCY IDP CAMP
Mercy IDP Camp Zonkwa was closed in the first quarter of 2021 when schools re-opened. But, following the spate of attacks on the surrounding villages the IDP Camp has no option but to re-open.
The IDP Camp has over 3000 registered members with 52 widows.
RELIEF
In this month’s relief distribution, the following were provided:
N5,000 each for 52 widows
Rice
Maize
Beans
Palm oil
Vegetable oil
VILLAGES FRESHLY ATTACKED
The following villages were attacked in the last quarter up to early 2022. The attacks have been renewed:
