NOBODY KNOWS THE DAY OR THE HOUR? (Part 4 of 5)

THE TEST OF PROPHECY
In the past few weeks, we have been examining prophecies and revelations about the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to take His people home. The evidence at our disposal about the rapture of the Church in September 2025 is compelling and transcends mere spiritual fantasies. Additional corroborations have come from non-Christian sources.

As the saints are urged to prepare for the coming of the Lord, efforts continue to confirm the veracity of all that has been heard and shared. An instructive passage in the Bible, to guide saints in this season, is Deut. 18:21-22:

And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

God commands that each prophecy should be tested by its fulfilment. Therefore, prophecies in the name of the Lord should not cause controversy, division, or acrimony in the Church. The saints are called to follow peace with all men, and with each other. Undeniably, this matter of the rapture of the Church and the prophecy of 23rd – 24th September 2025 dates has caused a stir in the Body of Christ. However, it should not be become a source of contention within the Body. God gave clear instructions in Deut. 18:22 on how to test prophecies.

Fortunately, those who received the revelations upon which our engagements have been based unanimously provided a time range of two for the Rapture. As at the date of this prayer call, those dates are less than two weeks away. Therefore, the appropriate approach of the saints of God should be to apply the injunction of Deut. 18:22 and await its fulfilment or otherwise, while being truly personally prepared, should it be true at last. By 25th September 2025, for anyone still here (or if we all are), the matter shall have been clear.

In the meantime, following the Biblical command to “despise not prophesyings” (1 Thess. 5:20) the people of God should make every effort to prepare for the coming of the Lord. All that needs to be done to ensure that one is ready to meet Jesus Christ must be put in place. There is wisdom in taking this step because, with God, all things are possible. There are two credible grounds upon which the saints are encouraged not to ignore the growing information that the Lord will come in September 2025. They are:

1. With God all things are possible. Matt. 19:26
2. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. 2 Cor. 13:1

It is possible for the Lord to come for His people on 23rd/24th September 2025. God can do all things. Because some predictions have failed in the past does not mean that every prediction will fail. One day, He will come. While the Lord did not provide a specific date while He was on the earth, He provided signs that should be observed, and most Bible scholars agree that those signs are taking place. Moreover, when two, and more witnesses affirm the same message as coming from God, wisdom demands that the matter be soberly considered.

It is from the perspective of caution that the National Prayer Altar is calling on the saints to prepare for the coming of the Lord. Preparation for the Lord’s coming should be the daily attitude of Christians. Unfortunately, there has come upon the Church in recent years, a worrisome lukewarmness and worldliness. This call serves as a good opportunity for the saints to renew their consecration and commitment to the Lord.

In Luke 21:34-36, the Lord commands His people to ”watch … and pray always”.

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

As faithful servants, every time we hear of the coming of our Master, our duty should be to renew our commitment to meet Him "without spot, wrinkle, or blemish.” If a situation should arise, anywhere, in which the servants of a master are angry and contentious when they were informed that their lord is returning from a long trip, the implication is that those servants do not want their master to return. It is only unfaithful servants that will respond in that manner. Any information that the Lord is coming should fill Christians with joy and hope, not contention or argument. The worry of the Lord that "when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" (Luke 18:8) is now being greatly highlighted by the response of many Church people to the general call that the Lord could come in September 2025. The uncomfortable conclusion is that many people in the Church are neither ready for the coming of the Lord nor want Him to come NOW.

Another area of concern is the simmering contention between those who believe in a pre-tribulation rapture and the others who stand on the post-tribulation grounds. The current call that the Lord could return in September 2025 has highlighted this contention. There can only be one truth. When the Church believes multiple truths and each camp holds tenaciously to its position, the Church is divided. If by 25th September 2025 we still on earth, this matter should receive urgent ecclesiastical attention. There can only be one truth.

At the National Prayer Altar, we pray for the salvation of all men, and we pray that when the Lord shall return, His people shall not be ashamed. However, the matter of going home with the Lord is an individual decision and each person is encouraged to "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling". Phil. 2:12

Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Rev. 22:20
