PRAYER POINTS FOR THE 24/7 PRAYER CHAIN FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST & NIGERIA, Jan 9-15, 2022
PREAMBLE
We give thanks to God for bringing us through 2021 into 2022 and for all that God has done for you, your family, the Church and Nigeria. However, it has become clear that for Nigeria to progress into the birthing of the righteous nation that God has in mind for us at this time, the Church must decisively turn from her wicked ways, and be the way God wants it. Towards this end, let us pray for the church in our nation with the scriptures below.
PRAYER POINTS
- In Zech. 3:1-8, Joshua the High Priest was resisted by Satan and made unable to function. Pray for all in church leaders in our nation for the enabling grace of God to finish strong in the LORD, just as when God commissioned them and they started in ministry. Pray for them to be delivered from all deceits of Satan out of the way of God. Pray for the grace of repentance for those that have gone astray that will enable God to intervene on their behalf, even as he did for Joshua, and get them back on track in Jesus Christ Name! Amen!
- From Nahum 3: 1-4, we see the extensive destructive works of witchcraft. Our church leaders have been a major focus of the mistress of witchcraft in many ways, derailing them and through that polluting and incapacitating the church. Decree an end to this operation of witchcraft and sorcery in and over the church; invite God against the mistress of witchcraft to deal with her as He has outlined in Nahum 3:5-6 in the Name of Jesus Christ! Amen! (Please read Nahum and pray with it).
- Many church leaders from the highest levels to the least have been defiled: patronizing the mistress of witchcraft, being hand in gloves with the occult, the love of money (filthy lucre), sexual immorality etc. For those who will not repent as we have prayed for above, let us ask the Lord to arise and refine, purify and purge as He said He would do in Mal. 3: 1-4 without further delay.
- The preaching of another gospel – salvation by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ without TRUE REPENTANCE, resulting in people believing they are BORN AGAIN, but continuing to live in SIN, and taking it as okay (Gal. 1:6-10). Pray that God should put an end to this in Nigeria, in His own way, in Jesus Christ Name. Amen!
- In Eph. 1:15-23, Paul prayed for the converts in Ephesus: that God should grant them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, enlighten their eyes of understanding to know the hope of His calling, the riches of the glory of his inheritance in them and the exceeding greatness of His power to available to those who believe, according to the working of God’s mighty power. We need these things too. Please pray this for all truly born-again Christians in all our churches.
- Following up above prayer, pray in line with the counsel of Apostle Peter in 1Peter 2:1-2 for all Christians in Nigeria to yearn, love, read and personally study our bibles daily as to grow in Christ and become Christ-like.
- MATTERS ARISING: Pray for other matters arising in the nation e.g. the Electoral Act amendment, pray against accidents and mass deaths etc
OTHER PRAYERS
- Mat_21:44 “And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder” Pray for the immediate release of Leah Sharibu and others held by abductors; decree that all spiritual forces and human structures keeping Leah Sharibu bound should collapse, leading to her freedom in a glorious testimony
