MARATHON PRAYERS
Monday 11th September – Sunday 17th September 2023
PRAYER POINTS
1. 1 Thes. 5:18: The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal gave its judgment last week, and it cast a dark pall over the country. Just as when the nocturnal announcement of the election results was made on 25th February 2023, the land went into mourning.
The word of God commands us to give thanks in all situations. Whether we like what happened or not, God’s command is for us to give Him thanks. God knows what He is doing. “… the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men …” Dan. 4:25
Thank God for Nigeria, thank God for all that the country is going through, and thank God that the Most High is in control.
2. Isaiah 32:10 & 15: Pray again for the outpouring of the Spirit of God upon Nigeria, to bring an end to decades of trouble and confusion in the land.
3. Acts 2:1–4: Pray for Holy Ghost revival in the Nigeria Church. Pray that God will revive His people and cause them to return to Christlikeness.
4. Mark 16:15–18: Pray for salvation of souls all over Nigeria. Pray that Christians shall return to evangelism. Pray that the character and attitude of Christians shall return to the Christlikeness that will draw lost souls into the Kingdom of God.
5. 1 Cor. 11:31; 1 Peter 4:17: Pray for the discipline of the Holy Spirit to rest upon the Nigeria Church such that Christians would no longer tolerate sin and iniquity in the Body of Christ. Pray that a zeal for truth and righteousness shall propel Christians to execute judgment on corruption and immorality in the Church.
6. Is. 55:10–11: Pray and hasten the fulfilment of the prophetic mandate of God for Nigeria. Pray that every prophecy of God concerning a new Nigeria shall speedily come to pass.
7. The word of God, in Ps. 149:5–9, gives the saints of God the honour to execute judgment. Stand on Job 20:4–29 and execute judgment upon those who loot the treasury of Nigeria, the riggers of elections and their accomplices, those who dispense injustice and unrighteousness in our courts, as well as those who promote oppression and evil in the land.
