APPRECIATION
CSMN wishes to thank all the people who donated to the Cry of Martyrs projects to Christian IDPs. We were unable to do any project in the past one month due to the lockdown. Now that the lockdown is gradually being eased, we are returning immediately to the field.
This weekend, we are doing four relief projects in the locations below:
1. Southern Kaduna
2. Benue
3. Taraba
4. Stephen's Children Home, Abeokuta
DONATIONS
Apart from cash donations (complete report shall be available in our monthly financial report) we also received 1,800 mattresses for our brethren in the IDP camps. This is a welcome relief because many of them, particularly the nursing mothers, sleep on bare ground.
We thank the donors of the mattresses who wish to remain anonymous. May God bless them openly.
We need more help. There are camps with over 36,000 IDPs. In Benue state alone, there are 22 IDP camps. The humanitarian need is enormous.
This is a call for all Christians to support. A monthly donation of N500 or more, by many Christians, would go a long way to help.
LITIGATION
Apart from providing food, CSMN is embarking on litigation on behalf of abducted Christian girls. Our daughters should not be used as spoils of war. Our Legal Department has been constituted and once movement returns to normal, we shall proceed.
This intervention also requires enormous amount of money.
Please support.
BENUE
By the grace of God, CSMN has been able to send 600,000 Naira to Benue for feeding of the IDPs and one thousand mattresses are on the way to Benue. Food distribution will take place tomorrow in Gbajimba camp of about 29,000 persons and Daudu 3 IDP camp of about 8000 people, all in Guma Local Government.
We are working in Benue in collaboration with the CAN Chairman and we thank him for his support.
TARABA
In Taraba, 400,000 naira was sent for IDP feeding in the six IDP camps in Jalingo, the state capital. Distribution commences this weekend in the Camps. 500 mattresses are also on the way to Jalingo for the IDPs.
In Taraba, we are working with Taraba State Conservative Movement (TASCOMO)
SOUTHERN KADUNA
Southern Kaduna received 200,000 naira for IDP feeding. Distribution is to take place also on Saturday 16th May, 2020 and 300 mattresses are on the way to cater for Christian IDPs in the state.
Again, we are working with Hausa Christians Foundation (HACFO) to conduct the relief distribution.
We have less money to spend in Southern Kaduna for food because we have set aside funds for litigation.
CHILDREN OF MARTYRS
We did a food project at the Stephen's Children Home, Abeokuta, today. A Christian elder celebrated his birthday today by donating N75,000 to purchase food for the children whose parents were killed by insurgents. We added N25,000 to round it up to N100,000 for the project.
The elder wishes to remain anonymous.
God bless him.
HUMANITARIAN DIRECTORATE
We have set up a Humanitarian Directorate to handle our intervention to persecuted Christians.
The Directorate is headed by Bro. Moses Godspecial and he shall coordinate our works in these areas.
CONCLUSION
While we are grateful to all our donors, we need to point out that we are barely scratching the need amongst the persecuted Christians. In Benue for example, we are only covering 2 out of 22 IDP camps. And, what we are providing is food for a few days.
This is why we appeal to Christians to support. To the best of our ability, we have provided transparency and accountability concerning the funds committed into our hands. We need community conviction for other Christians to support. So, don't be satisfied that you have donated, please go a step further and persuade those within your sphere of influence to donate also.
The need is plentiful but the fund is few.
