Let us repent accordingly in the following order.

  1. Repent of Personal Sins including ministerial sins,
  • All forms of unforgiveness, including bearing of grudges, woundedness
  • All forms of envy, including ministerial competition
  • All forms of offenses
  • All forms of pride,
  • All forms of laziness, particularly ministerial indolence
  • All forms of falsehood, lying, hypocrisy, deceit, craftiness, etc
  • All forms of greed, stealing and cheating,
  • All forms of gossip and slander
  • All forms of idolatry, including hero worship
  • Self-promotion and seeking the praise of men,
  • All forms of rebellion, including disobedience, not submitting to one’s spouse
  • unrighteous parenting,
  • All forms of unfaithfulness, betrayals, unfulfilled promises, etc. giving unrighteous counsel,
  • selfish ambition
  • Bias: Tribalism, sectionalism, denominationalism, favoritism, tribalism, all forms of discrimination,
  • Any action, words or deeds that have contributed to the sinful state of the nation.
  1. Repent of the sins of your spouse, children, parents & ancestors.
  • Idolatrous practices
    • Demon worship
    • Idolatrous festivals, dance and songs
    • Tribal/incision marks
    • Blood/Human sacrifices
    • Idolatrous priesthood
    • Consulting with sorcerers
    • Witchcraft
    • All forms of occult practices
  • Blood guiltiness: Wicked and indiscriminate shedding of blood by the State and non-state actors e.g. Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen, armed robbers, kidnappers, assassins, cultists, murder by Armed Forces and Security Agents, ritualists, etc
  • Owning and selling of slaves
  • Killing of twins
  • Sins against the Gospel
    • Rejection of the gospel
    • Killing and persecution of missionaries
    • Burning Bibles and scriptural materials
    • Burning churches
  • Sexual sins:
    • Adultery
    • Fornication
    • Bestiality
    • Incest
    • Pornography
    • Masturbation
    • Homosexuality
    • Prostitution
  1. Repent of the sins of the church –
    • Prayerlessness –
    • hard heartedness towards God,
    • unwillingness to repent of sins,
    • pride,
    • outsourcing of prayers, etc.
    • Low Biblical knowledge, understanding and application
    • Intellectual indolence leading to carnal interpretation of scriptures
    • Carnality among Christian leaders (1 Corinthians 2:11-16, 3:1-3)
    • Covetousness –
    • being open to financial inducement,
    • worldliness,
    • materialism,
    • corruption,
    • Conversion of ministry funds to personal use,
    • evil compromise,
    • deliberate sellout,
    • profiteering of anointing,
    • cheating,
    • Disunity–
    • denominationalism,
    • sectionalism,
    • individualism,
    • divisions,
    • slander,
    • gossips,
    • judging,
    • bitterness,
    • murmuring,
    • complaining,
    • malice,
    • quarreling
    • Sexual sins –
    • Adultery,
    • fornication,
    • prostitution,
    • pornography
    • incest,
    • bestiality,
    • homosexuality,
    • pimping,
    • Witchcraft –
    • Manipulation,
    • seduction,
    • intimidation,
    • Ungodly control
    • Ungodly ministerial practices –
    • Personal empire building,
    • Competition,
    • Self centeredness,
    • deliberate distortion of gospel message,
    • misleading of congregation for personal gains.
    • Encouraging the building of a cult around ministry
    • Occult practices – witchcraft, tokenism,
    • Deliberate falsehood – false teaching, deceit, cheating, hypocrisy
    • Allowing evil spirits to operate in the Church:
      Jezebel - spirit that pollutes (Revelation 2: 20)
      Miriam - spirit of envy from a former senior in ministry, sibling rivalry (Numbers 12: 2)
      Korah - spirit that despises anointed contemporaries (Numbers 16: 3)
      Dathan and Abiram: spirit that claims right of seniority (Numbers 16:12) -    (Note: Both are Reubenites ie firstborn status)
      Eliab: spirit that resents a contemporary who God elevates; it judges the object of resentment (1 Samuel 17:28)
      King Saul: spirit that provokes insecurity of a boss against a favoured subordinate (1 Samuel 18: 9)
      Adonizedek, Hoham, Piram, Japhia, & Debir - The spirits/powers that hinder entry into inheritance (Joshua 10)

 

  1. Repent of the sins of Lagos state (substitute with your own State) 
    • Promotion of idolatrous practices (using government funds) under the pretense of culture
    • Carnivals
    • Festivals
    • Refurbishment of shrines
    • Financial support for sorcerers
    • oppression of the poor & the weak, 
    • wickedness agents of state in carrying out their duties,
    • extortion of money from the public,
    • embezzlement of public funds,
    • organizing carnivals in the name of culture that glorifies satan,
  1. Repent of the sins of Nigeria --
    • Hypocritical rejection of godliness and righteousness
    • Culture of entitlement
    • Laziness and “get rich quick” syndrome
    • Discrimination:
    • tribalism,
    • nepotism,
    • sectionalism
    • suppression of women
    • Corruption and unethical practices
    • election rigging
    • stealing of public funds
    • giving undue advantage to foreigners to the detriment of Nigeria.
    • Injustice
    • Lack of transparency
    • Deliberate falsehood and other forms of deceit
    • Idolatry and sorcery
    • Government sponsored idolatry

    • Occultism in government and the organized private sector
    • Modernized idolatry e.g. Eyo, Argungu fishing festivals, etc
