THANKSGIVING: Psm 100.4-5 “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations” Give God thanks, praise and glory for all He has done for you, your family, the Church and Nigeria; for His marvelous attributes and attitude towards us.
REPENTANCE: Also, ask God for mercy and forgiveness for all of your sins, your family’s, the Church and Nigeria; pray for grace to turn and live in obedience; that our land may be healed (2 Chron. 7.14).
FOCUS: Closing Nigeria’s 62nd Year this last week & Opening the 63rd Year (Sept 30 / Oct 1)
PRAYERS
Psm 124:2,6 “If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us....Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth” Let us thank God for the miraculous preservation of Nigeria and of the Church which the enemy has desperately sought to overrun; with supernatural conversions and growth being registered even in the North. Thank the Lord for how Nigerians have miraculously continued to survive with some prices doubling or more within one year while salaries have remained largely same.
Jer 1:10 “See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down….” By decrees and proclamations, root out, pull down, destroy, and to throw down the era when “Nigeria and Nigerians will be known all over the world for corruption” and “your name – Nigeria – will stink of corruption”. Come against policies, practices, personalities, principalities, powers, parties, agendas, arrangements, alliances and everything that promoted and sustained corruption and evil in Nigeria. Decree that they close out with this outgoing year.
Jer 1:10 “See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, …to build, and to plant” By decrees and proclamations, declare open the era of “after a while, a new era will come – a phase of righteousness. People from the nations of the earth will hold a Nigerian and say ‘We want to follow you to your nation to learn righteousness’ “ Build and plant the systems, structures, strategies, solutions, laws, servant leadership and everything spiritual and material that will entrench this new era. Call them forth to begin with this new Nigeria year, flood out the old. Let this word become flesh and we behold the glory; let this word grow mightily and prevail henceforth.
Gen_2:19 “… whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.” Name Nigeria’s new year, its 63rd year that begins on October-1. Give the year shape, form, size, character; impregnate it spiritually to birth ONLY & STRICTLY “whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report” to allow STRICLY those things that “there be any virtue,…there be any praise” - Php_4:8
Ecc_9:11 “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all” and “So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.” Pray for God to have mercy on us” - Rom_9:16. Pray for yourself, your family, the Church and Nigeria….that in this new Nigeria year, time and chance will bring favour, goodness and mercies; pray that the Lord will show mercy that shall uplift, transform and advance
- Pray other prayers for current national issues as your have observed or are burdened to pray. Pray also for the ongoing political transition process that there be no hijack, and the next leader shall be of God.
- SPECIAL PRAYER: Lord have mercy on Leah Sharibu and all others abducted and still in the hands of their captors. Stretch forth Your hand and set free. (d) Defend Your children from Jihad in S/Kaduna, Jos and other Christian territories (c.) Have mercy on IDPs and enable them return to their homes.
