PRAYER POINTS FOR THE 24x7 PRAYER CHAIN FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST & NIGERIA, Oct 16 - 22, 2022
THANKSGIVING: Psa_30:5 “For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” By faith, Nigeria’s morning has come. IT IS A NEW DAWN. It remains for us to build on and fully establish this. Give God thanks, praise and glory for all He has done for you, your family, the Church and Nigeria; for His marvelous attributes and attitude towards us: His lovingkindness, His great goodness towards the Church – the Israel of God in Nigeria.
REPENTANCE: Also, ask God for mercy and forgiveness for all of your sins, your family’s, the Church and Nigeria; pray for grace to turn and live in obedience; that our land may be healed (2 Chron. 7.14).
FOCUS: PRAYING OF THE 3RD WEEK OF NIGERIA'S YEAR COUNTING FROM OCT-1 & THE 42ND WEEK OF THE CALENDAR YEAR, BEING OCT 15TH - 21ST [Please hear the audio version also]
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
- THE THIRD SEASON
The third season (third day, third week, third month, third 7 weeks, third year) is a game-changing season. In the Bible, "the third day" is a day of turnarounds. Jesus rose from the dead on the third day. When a messenger of God says a woman will give birth "about this time next year" (as in 2 Kings 4:16), it means the woman will conceive in the third month from the prophecy because it only takes 9 months to grow a baby in the womb. The third king of Israel, Solomon, took Israel to new level in every way - good and bad. Narratives in the books of the Bible take a new course from the third chapter. The third chapters of the Bible have three special features that are applicable to the third season or third week:
- God speaks to change direction (Genesis 3; Exodus 3; First Samuel 3; Jonah 3; Matthew 3; Luke 3).
- Sacrifice opens the door and lays foundation for a new direction (John 3:16; First Kings 3; Second Kings 3: 26-27; Ezra 3:3).
- The enemy starts a challenge that reveals and magnifies God (the serpent in Genesis 3; Haman in Esther 3; the fiery furnace in Daniel 3).
- THE 42ND WEEK
The 42nd season is a time to turn situations around through prayer and the release of the Power of God.
*It is an end-point for waiting - waiting for prayers to be answered, and/or for prophecies to be fulfilled, and for trials to end.* Job's troubles ended in the 42nd chapter of Job. Joseph's dreams came to pass in Genesis 42. In the 42nd book of the Bible, Zechariah received answers to his prayers. Simeon and Anna with others who waited for the redemption of Israel also saw the answer to their prayers in this book. Also in the 42nd book of the Bible, a virgin conceived and gave birth to fulfill Isaiah's prophecy. *This is a season when impossible dreams and promises become reality.*
It is a season to test patience and perseverance in prayer. The 42nd season is a time to pray and receive answers. However the kind of prayer that works in this season is persevering prayer. People are tempted to give up praying in this season because it looks like it's not producing any result. That is the reason the 42nd book of Bible tells us about those who waited in the place of prayer and about tarrying to receive power from on high. Luke 11 and 18 teaches importunity in prayer. Sweat dropped from Jesus like drops of blood as He prayed in Luke 22.
This is a week of changing situations in Nigeria through prayer; of the impossible becoming possible (42nd week) and sacrifices making great difference (3rd week).

PRAYER POINTS
- O Lord give me understanding and guidance by Your Spirit to make all necessary sacrifices for a decisive turnaround, not to be slack in every prayer, fast, spiritual or material sacrifice necessary for the fullest of what God has in store for my life, family, in the Church / the Body of Christ, and in Nigeria, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen
- Pray and call forth the needed divine change of direction in my life, family, in the Church / the Body of Christ, and in Nigeria, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
- Pray and declare: By the power of the Most High God, all time and chance be set and reset to activate the fullness of God’s purposes and provisions for my life, family, in the Church / the Body of Christ, and in Nigeria, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen
- Pray that every challenge, opposition, barrier and hindrance of the devil and his agents only make your manife
- All waiting coming to an end, all good words of the Lord become flesh that all will behold the glory of God Almighty in my life, family, in the Church / the Body of Christ, and in Nigeria, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen
- Pray and thank God by faith for strength to persist, persevere and prevail in the place of prayers.
- Oba_1:21 “And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD'S” Jesus Christ prayed until sweat came forth as drops of blood to save humanity. Pray and receive grace to pray to be the saviour and deliverer of your own life, family, for the Church / the Body of Christ, and for Nigeria NOW, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Pray for strength for delivery.
- As the lasting travails of Job ended in chapter 42, all stubborn challenges and travails of the Church and of Nigeria expire by fire, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen
- As the longstanding and seemingly elusive dreams of Joseph came true in the 42nd Chapter, God-given dreams for my life, family, for the Church / the Body of Christ, and for Nigeria that have lingered unfulfilled burst forth in fulfillment now, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen
- As the protracted prayers of several decades by Hannah and Simeon became manifest reality in the 42nd book of the bible, protracted prayers for my life, family, for the Church / the Body of Christ, and for Nigeria that have lingered become manifest answers and testimonies NOW in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Everything that has withstood the answers and manifestations, give way by fire!
- Pray other prayers for current national issues as your have observed or are burdened to pray. Pray also for the ongoing political transition process that there be no hijack, and the next leader shall be of God.
- SPECIAL PRAYER: Lord have mercy on Leah Sharibu and all others abducted and still in the hands of their captors. Stretch forth Your hand and set free. (d) Defend Your children from Jihad in S/Kaduna, Jos and other Christian territories (c.) Have mercy on IDPs and enable them return to their homes.
