PRAYER POINTS FOR THE 24x7 PRAYER CHAIN FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST & NIGERIA, Jan 8-14, 2023
THANKSGIVING & WORSHIP: Psa_34:1 “I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth” How much and how long would you like to praise and worship God this year? God has kept us another whole year…as a loving Shepherd, leading us in the way of life and peace. Jesus Christ has paved way for all these mercies and blessings. Give God thanks, for sending Jesus Christ and paving way for us to be partakers of the blessings of Abraham. Also praise God for all He has done for you, your family, the Church and Nigeria through 2022….& for yet greater things He is set to do in 2023.
REPENTANCE: Ask God for mercy and forgiveness for all of your sins, your family’s, the Church and Nigeria; pray for grace to turn and live in obedience; that our land may be healed (2 Chron. 7.14).
FOCUS: MERCY FOR PEACE, PROGRESS AND GOOD SUCCESS IN 2023

- MERCY REIGN: Exo_25:21-22 “And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee. And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat” Pray that the Lord seat upon His mercy seat, relate to His children in Nigeria and the nation itself in mercy, and let His mercy reign above ALL in this crucial year for our nation
- NOT DESTITUTE OF MERCY: Gen_24:27“Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of His mercy and His truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me…” Pray to the Lord that per the promised blessings of Abraham, compounded in Christ Jesus, let mercy abound unto us.
- MAGNIFIED MERCY: Gen_19:19“Behold now, Thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast showed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die” Pray that like Lot in Sodom, the Lord will show you, your family, the Church and Nigeria no ordinary mercy but magnified mercy...and help us not to take the mercy for granted and shy off rigorously seize His grace and escape to a mountain of safety for ourselves and Nigeria
- NAVIGATED BY MERCY: Gen_24:27“Blessed be the LORD God …who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me…” Pray that by the outworking of God’s mercy, you, your family, the Church and Nigeria shall not miss the way this 2023. We shall hit perfect and glorious destination in our affairs, in His service, in the emergence of a new national leader, not because of our skill, prudence or wisdom but by the effect of His mercy
- PRESERVED BY MERCY: Lam 3:22“It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not”O how many times Nigeria’s collapse and dissolution has been forecast, but it has not happened. God has a purpose and we have been preserved. Pray that His mercies shall both preserve you, your family, the Church and Nigeria this year; and bring the purpose of His preservation to fruition
- EARLY SATISFACTION MERCY: Psa_90:14“O satisfy us early with Thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days” Pray that it will not be the last quarter, last month or last week of 2023 before some joy breaks forth for you, your family, the Church or Nigeria. Let God satisfy.
- VICTORIOUS BY MERCY: Gen_39:21“But the LORD was with Joseph, and showed him mercy, and gave him favour…” The rise of Joseph was in furtherance of God’s promise to Abraham and of God’s agenda for Israel. We are today “the Israel of God”. Pray that God’s chosen leader for Nigeria, the states, and legislatures shall rise by mercy and divine favor.
- MERCY FOR REDEMPTION & RIGHTEOUSNESS: Exo_15:13“Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in Thy strength unto Thy holy habitation” Pray that ABOVE ALL, God’s mercy will lead you, your family, the Church and Nigeria to the place of holiness, to the fulfillment of the second part of Pa Elto prophecy when nations come here to learn righteousness.
- Pray other prayers for current national issues as you have observed or are burdened to pray. Pray also for the ongoing political transition process that there be no hijack, and the next leader shall be of God.
- SPECIAL PRAYER: (a) Lord have mercy on Leah Sharibu and all others abducted and still in the hands of their captors. Stretch forth Your hand and set free. (b) Defend Your children from Jihad in S/Kaduna, Jos and other Christian territories (c.) Have mercy on IDPs and enable them return to their homes.
