PRAYER POINTS FOR THE 24x7 PRAYER CHAIN FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST & NIGERIA, Jan 15-21, 2023
THANKSGIVING & WORSHIP: Psa_34:2 “My soul shall make her boast in the LORD” Has God not been so good, able and dependable to justify boasting in Him? God has kept us another whole year…contending with all that contended with us; and adversary to our adversaries. Jesus Christ has paved way for all these mercies and blessings. Give God thanks, for sending Jesus Christ and paving way for us to be partakers of the blessings of Abraham. Also praise God for all He has done for you, your family, the Church and Nigeria through 2022….& for yet greater things He is set to do in 2023.
REPENTANCE: Ask God for mercy and forgiveness for all of your sins, your family’s, the Church and Nigeria; pray for grace to turn and live in obedience; that our land may be healed (2 Chron. 7.14).
FOCUS: MERCY FOR PEACE, PROGRESS AND GOOD SUCCESS IN 2023 – Part 2
PRAYER POINTS
- MERCY FOR HELP IN CRITICAL NEED: Heb_4:16“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” Honestly affirm the crucial need that you, your family, the Church and Nigeria have this year 2023 and pray that God will grant mercy and shower grace to help, as ONLY God’s help can give us hope.
- SOVEREIGN MERCY: Exo_33:19 “I will make all My goodness pass before thee, …. and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy” Pray that God will cause His goodness to pass abundantly before and also show mercy this year unto you, your family, the Church and the best national leader to succeed the present.
- PARDON AND HELP BY MERCY: Exo_34:7“Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin…” If God was to weigh and act upon what we deserve, what is our hope? Ask God for pardon and help in mercy for you, your family, the Church and Nigeria
- MERCY OVER CHANCES: Ecc_9:11“…the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happens to them all” We cannot take a chance in 2023 in Nigeria, let alone taking chances. O Lord, You are God over all. Please take FULL control over time and chance in favour of me, my family, your Church and Nigeria in 2023
- A NEW LEADER PURELY OF MERCY: 2Ch_1:8“Thou hast shown great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead” King Solomon who made nations and kings visit Israel was a product of mercy. Pray that purely out of mercy, the Lord will raise a successor to the present national leader that will cause nations to begin to come to Nigeria to learn righteousness, learn management of ethnic diversity, and learn socio-economic transformation and sustainable development.
- END OF DEATH & DESTRUCTION BY MERCY: Psa_6:2; 9.13“Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed....Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that lifts me up from the gates of death” Militarily, politically, and in many respects, the Church is terribly weak relative to its adversaries, though it ought not to be. The only strength of the Church is in God and in superior numbers which it has failed to harness so far. Pray that God will deliver the Church from further death and destruction this year and from being “vexed”.
- GREAT DELIVERANCE BY MERCY: Psa_18:50“Great deliverance gives He to His king; and shows mercy to His anointed…” Under the new covenant, we are all priests and kings, and God’s anointed. Pray that the Lord will grant great deliverance to you, your family, the Church and Nigeria this 2023, deliverance that will establish irreversible advancement out of corruption, division, stagnation and confusion.
- Pray other prayers for current national issues as you have observed or are burdened to pray. Pray also for the ongoing political transition process that there be no hijack, and the next leader shall be of God.
- SPECIAL PRAYER: (a) Lord have mercy on Leah Sharibu and all others abducted and still in the hands of their captors. Stretch forth Your hand and set free. (b) Defend Your children from Jihad in S/Kaduna, Jos and other Christian territories (c.) Have mercy on IDPs and enable them return to their homes.
