Prayer Points For The Week: May 21 - May 28 2023

PRAYER POINTS FOR THE 24x7 PRAYER CHAIN FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST & NIGERIA, May 21-28, 2023

THANKSGIVING & WORSHIP:  Psm 46:1,7 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble….The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge” Let us thank God; He has been the refuge and strength of His children in Nigeria, and will continue to be. We are trusting God for a dream-state turnaround in the polity; to have God’s choice and the people’s mandate restored. God is faithful and NEVER will fail. Let’s still lavishly praise the Lord and declare His glory. We shall yet be victorious, for “The LORD of hosts is with us”

REPENTANCE: Let us truly repent and ask God for mercy and forgiveness for all of your sins, and the sins of your family, the Church and Nigeria, and for the contributions of Christians to the woes that believers and Nigeria are now facing by ignoring prophetic warnings. Pray for God’s grace to turn and live in obedience; that our land may be healed (2 Chron. 7.14)

FOCUS:  Keying into the Possibilities of the 21st Week of 2023 and the 34th Week of Nigeria’s Year (from Oct-1)

PRAYER POINTS :

PART 1: THE 21ST WEEK OF 2023

Let us pray and ask God that in His mercy, He will make this 21st week of 2023 the 21st chapter for Nigeria, for the Church, for you and your family. Prophesy and proclaim in faith that it shall be so.

  • In Genesis 21, the child Abraham and Sarah waited for was born. In Psalm 21, the Lord gave the king the desires of his heart.
  • Ask that the Lord in mercy will grant the heart desires of His children for good governance by the righteous; their heart desires for righteousness in the land, for peace and progress as a nation and as individuals and families
  • Laughter: Let God unleash “Isaac/Laughter” in Nigeria, in the Church, and in our personal lives this week. Call forth laughter
  • Isaac is also the 21st generation from Adam. The Messianic lineage started in the 21st generation from Adam. Prophesy that the generation of leaders and followers that will cause Jesus Christ to be manifested and enthroned in Nigeria burst forth this week
  • Jos 21:43“And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he swore to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein” In Joshua 21, Israel witnessed and testified that the Lord had given them the Land He promised their fathers. Not one word of the promise failed. Also, Israel began to possess the land of her enemies in Numbers 21. Pray that this week, the Nigeria that God promised Pa Elton and others, a land where nations shall come and learn righteousness shall burst forth and consolidate ever after this week
  • In Matthew 21, Jesus recovered the temple of God from merchants and restored it to be the house of Prayer it was intended to be. In First Chronicles 21, David recovered a holy ground that had become a threshing floor from Araunah (Ornan). Prophesy that Nigeria be restored from what the devil has tried to shape it unto what is in God’s heart
  • Revelation 21: 1,4: "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth….And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away'" In Revelation 21, the ‘new heaven’ and ‘new earth’ which Isaiah and Peter spoke about (Isaiah 65: 17-25; Second Peter 3:13) became reality. Prophesy that the new Nigeria becomes a VISIBILE, TANGIBLE reality from this week onward
  • Rev 21:3“And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God” Pray and prophesy that this week onward, it shall be manifest and unmistakable that God is in Nigeria as the Almighty; and God not the devil is in absolute control of the polity and affairs of Nigeria
  • It is a time to tame the proud and the arrogant. Heaven reacts against human pride and arrogance in the 21st season. In First Kings 21, Elijah stepped in to confront and curse Ahab and his house – over the case of Naboth. In Second Kings 21, judgment came upon Manasseh and Judah because of the sins and wickedness of Manasseh. In First Chronicles 21, Israel came under a plague for David’s wrong step in numbering Israel. Pray that the Lord would visit wickedness and the wicked in Nigeria and their allies around the world. Pray that the Lord would hear the cry of the poor and helpless and answer their prayers against wickedness. Pray that the Lord would move the heart of kings and people in authority to do His will this season. Pray that the king’s of the earth will humble themselves before the King of kings.
  • Jos 21:3“And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their inheritance, at the commandment of the LORD” The tribe of Levi received their inheritance in Joshua 21. In the same chapter, it is recorded that God fulfilled to Israel the promise of land He made to their fathers. Today, we are the priests and kings under our King of Kings. Call forth every inheritance of the Church, of believers that have been denied them hitherto in Nigeria, including dominion and leadership; for we shall be first and not last, top and not bottom
  • Receiving promises may require the removal of obstacles. So, this season is also for dismantling all barriers to access. In Numbers 21, Israel overthrew three kings that denied them access on their way to Canaan (defeating Og, Sihon, and the King of Arad). Pray and prophesy that everything and everyone standing in the way of the Church and the nation entering into the Promise Land be shattered, dismantled, demolished, uprooted. Also pray that this week, the Lord will grant you access to purposes, places and people you desire and need to fulfill His plan and purpose for your life and same for Nigeria.
  • This is the season to separate Ishmael from Isaac. The Hagar and Ishmael were sent away in Gen 21. Also, the Lord opened Hagar’s eyes to see a well from which she and her son were refreshed in Genesis 21. In Numbers 21, God led Israel to a place of wells of water. It is a season of pain for Ishmael but the Lord will reveal the well of living water to Hagar and her son (Genesis 21).
  • Let the Ishmaelites be driven away from every place not ordained by God for them; put in their proper place in Nigeria, not dominion, oppressing, and troubling the children of promise
  • Pray that the Church will find rest and relief from the troubles (terror, displacement from homelands, killings) visited on it by the Ishmaelites
  • Just as Hagar and Ishmael found water in Gen 21, Lord let the Ishmaelites find living water this week and onward; let their eyes be opened to the supremacy, reality and necessity of Jesus Christ for them to have true life
  • This is a season of Rs – recovery, restoration, rehabilitation and redirection. In Judges 21, Israel came together at Shiloh to solve the problem of finding wives for the men of Benjamin. That step saved the tribe of Benjamin. They recovered Benjamin. In Matthew 21, Jesus cleansed and restored the temple. In John 21, Peter and the other disciples wanted to return to fishing but Jesus redirected Peter to shepherding. In Acts 21, Paul returned to Jerusalem for the Feast of Pentecost. The Jews wanted to kill him; but God delivered him and began to make way to take him to Rome.

Pray that the Lord will grant recoveries of lost mandates; lost spiritual, political and economic grounds and territories; and cause rehabilitations among His people and in Nigeria and the nations. Pray for the recovery of Holy grounds of faith and wells of living water lost to the world. Pray that God’s Vineyard will be recovered from unfaithful and wicked caretakers as in Matthew 21. Pray for the restoration of the temple and house of God suffering abuse from self-centered pursuits. Pray that the Lord will redirect His people from returning the familiar place we used to be, to move on to new grounds we’ve never been to.

11. The 21st is the season of the bride. The wife of the Lamb is introduced in Revelation 21. A man’s wife makes his dreams and desires reality. Sarah bore a son to Abraham and Abraham’s hope and dream of a nation from his loins began to unfold. Pray that the Bride of Christ will shine forth and be celebrated in Nigeria and across the nations this season. That the righteous shall NEVER be put to shame or embarrassment or harassment from this season and ever after

12. Rev 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Season of laughter instead of crying” In Genesis 21, Sarah said God had made her laugh; and in Revelation 21, God said “there shall be no more crying or pain”. Proclaim regarding yourself, the Church and the nation: “there shall be no more death, no more sorrow, no more crying, no more pain”. Proclaim a new era of laughter

13. The 21st is a time to gain knowledge and receive answers to questions. Ecclesiastes, the 21st book of the Bible is about seeking and finding answers to life’s hard questions. In Luke 21, the disciples of Jesus wanted to understand times and seasons. In John 21, Jesus delivered His disciples from their struggles to catch fish; by telling them what to do. In I Chron 21, David found an answer to the plague ravaging Israel. This is a week of answers.  Pray that the Lord will lead us to answers this week: answers to our lingering challenges and the troubles ravaging you, your family, the Church and Nigeria…including corruption and idolatry. Pray that the Lord will open the eyes of leaders to His answers to plagues in the nations as in Second Samuel 21.

PART 2: THE 34TH WEEK OF NIGERIA’S YEAR FROM OCT-1

14. In Genesis 34, Simeon and Levi, sons of Jacob took vengeance against the Shechemites for the rape of their sister, Dinah. O Lord, let Your vengeance come upon those that hev raped, robbed and desecrated Your Church and Your children in Nigeria; and all their allies across the world

15. In Exodus 34, God introduced Himself to Moses as One Who though merciful and gracious will by no means clear the guilty. God has given mandate to believers in Psm 149:7-9 “To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people. To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron. To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints”

a) Decree and pronounce verdict that every judgment written in God’s word against the wicked, the proud arrogant and oppressive come upon them swiftly this week

b) Bind the kings and nobles of the judiciary that they shall by no means pass any judgments based on bribes, tribes or any other unjust grounds but shall only pass just and righteous verdicts, whether they like it or not. Pray that angels that excel in strength and hearken to the voice of His word willconstrain them

16. Job 34:11-12 “For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.  Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment” Job 34 reveals that God “repays man according to his work”. Pray that any election riggers, ballot box snatchers, result manipulators, those killing fellow humans to attain power shall receive their just recompense

17. Psalms 34: 21-22 says, “Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned. The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

a) Pray that the Lord will avenge the oppressed in Nigeria who have been marginalized, robbed, deprived, humiliated, or killed by the wicked.

b) Pray that the Lord will visit those who fear Him with His mercy and goodness and give them testimonies as in Psalm 34.

c) As in the days of Josiah in Second Chronicles 34, when the lost book of the Law was found in the temple, O Lord revisit lost and forgotten aspects of Nigeria’s federalism. O Lord, command repairs in Nigeria and restore her positive beginnings.

d) Let lost and suppressed aspects of the Electoral Act, 2022 be brought to the fore and enforced

Pray other prayers for current national issues as you have observed or are burdened to pray.

  • OTHER SPECIAL PRAYERS: Pro_29:2 “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice” (a) Lord have mercy on Leah Sharibu and all others that were abducted and are still in the hands of their captors. Please raise political leaders that will set them free. (b) Defend Your children from Jihad in S/Kaduna, Jos and other Christian territories (c.) Have mercy on IDPs and enable them return to their homes.
