PRAYER POINTS FOR THE 24x7 PRAYER CHAIN FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST & NIGERIA, May 14-20, 2023
THANKSGIVING & WORSHIP: Psm 149:1 “Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and His praise in the congregation of saints….let the children of Zion be joyful in their King” We have been praying. God has heard. Victory is nigh. Let us praise the Lord; burst into a new song says the Lord. Let us, the Church in Nigeria, by faith be joyful in our great, powerful and faithful King.
REPENTANCE: Let us truly repent and ask God for mercy and forgiveness for all of your sins, and the sins of your family, the Church and Nigeria, and for the contributions of Christians to the woes that believers and Nigeria are now facing by ignoring prophetic warnings. Pray for God’s grace to turn and live in obedience; that our land may be healed (2 Chron. 7.14)
FOCUS: The season of praise and the ministry of angels {Psalm 103.20; Psm 149)
PRAYER POINTS :
Psm 149:1 “Praise ye the LORD….Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp” Rejoice, sing, dance, shout Halleluyah. Praise is warfare in and of itself, not a prelude or preparation for warfare.
Psm 149:4 “For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation”
- Appreciate God, bless His Holy name; that He is not just a God Who knows our infirmities (weaknesses); He is also not passive and unconcerned regarding His people. He takes pleasure, He is actively seeking the prosperity of His children. Take comfort and rejoice in the truth that what God wants will not elude Him.
- Thank the Lord that He is set to beautify those who do not rig elections, snatch ballot boxes, grab power by force and run away with it. God is set to beautify them with salvation. Thank Him, praise Him
Psm 149:6 “Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand”
- Ask God for grace for you and all of God’s children to give Him true high praise in the rest of May and beyond.
- Our two-edged sword is the word of God, the sword of the Spirit (Eph 6). God says: open your mouth wide and I will fill it with words. Pray that God will fill the mouth of His saints with the rights words for this crucial hour in our nation
- What has God said regarding Nigeria: in the Bible and in other authentic prophecies? Wield this “two-edged sword” by voicing these words, so that “angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word” will swing into action across Nigeria
Psm 149:7-8 “To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people. To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron”
- Call forth the vengeance of God upon the heathen in Nigeria that are acting like they are gods; decree that they end in shame and realize that they are mere men, so that Nigerians learn righteousness
- Decree that the kings (rulers, officials, nobles of Nigeria that are defying the will and counsel of God in Nigeria be bound and chained and frustrated from every counsel, scheme and plot that is contrary to God’s will
Pray other prayers for current national issues as you have observed or are burdened to pray.
- SPECIAL PRAYERS: Pro_29:2“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice” (a) God delivered Israel from Pharaoh about this time of year; same for Esther/Mordecai and the Jews; same for Peter at Easter (Acts 12). Pray that will do it again in Nigeria (b) That through the courts or by any means God chooses in His sovereignty, God will reverse and restore every stolen political mandate and establish the true choice of Nigerians (c) MAY 14, 2023 IS THE 20TH BIRTHDAY OF LEAH SHARIBU. SHE IS ALSO NOW 6 YEARS IN CAPTIVITY FOR REFUSING TO DENY CHRIST. Lord have mercy on Leah Sharibu and all others abducted and still in the hands of their captors. Please raise political leaders that will set them free. (d) Defend Your children from Jihad in S/Kaduna, Jos and other Christian territories (e.) Have mercy on IDPs and enable them return to their homes.
