21 Days Prayer and Fasting for Repentance
“Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.
2 As smoke is driven away, sodrive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.”
Ps. 68: 1-3
In the NT, three Greek words are translated “repent”. They are “metanoeo”, “metanoia” and “metamelomai”. The repentance that God delights in is “metanoia” and that is the repentance in Matt. 3: 8 “Bring therefore fruits meet for repentance”. In other words, produce EVIDENCE that you have repented. Nigerian Christians have agreed to pray and fast for 21 days to bring repentance to God. That is good. Now, produce evidence that you have truly repented.
The easiest way to do this, in addition to avoiding sin, is to pronounce “judgment” on every sin and evil that we are guilty of. We cannot claim to have repented of evils and yet tolerate the evils. God has pronounced judgment on our land because of sin. We must also show God that we pronounce judgment on the very things God has judged us of.
2 Cor. 11: 31 put it this way: “For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.”
Therefore, our prayer point for the last week is: JUDGMENT.
What are we going to judge?
Before we think of politicians and armed robbers, we should remember 1 Pet. 4: 17 that judgment must begin from the household of God. In 2013, when God said, “If care is not taken, in 30-40 years Nigeria will be like Turkey”, God described Nigerian Church as an IRRESPONSIBLE Church. Every manner of abomination and lawlessness that is not mentioned amongst pagans is tolerated in the Church. The Nigerian Church has been unable to call itself to order therefore God had to judge the land. The 7 year season of judgment from 2011 – 2018 is primarily punishment on the people of God.
On 30th June, 2016, as I started praying for mercy and divine intervention for Nigeria, God stopped me and chided me for trying to stop what He needed to do. I understood and asked for forgiveness. (Now in 2018 that the 7 years is full, we can now pray for mercy like Daniel.) That night, breaking into 1st July, 2016, I had a dream of standing before a king. Audio Bible was playing loudly in the hall and I was telling the king, “Kabiyesi, listen to the word. It is Jeremiah 27. That is the Word of God for now.”
Jeremiah 27 is the Word for now? Then, I knew God was angry with the Nigerian Church enough to destroy the entire country. The chapter is the commission of Nebuchadnezzar to place nations in bondage for their sin against God. Verse 7 of Jeremiah 27 must not happen in Nigeria. God forbid, in the Name of Jesus Christ.
When I attended the National Prophetic Conference organized by Rev. Aransiola and Elder Oyor in Ibadan in November 2016, I told the brethren, “This president is not going to die”. I mentioned that he is a whip to flog the Nigerian Church. “This one will not die”.
Remember all that happened in 2017 about his health? Twice some people were sure he had changed address. Twice, he disappointed them. I was again at the National Prophetic Conference in 2017 and I reminded the brethren, “I told you he is not going to die”. Based on what God showed me, this one is not going to die. He is a whip to flog the Church. However, we can get rid of him without stress, if we would do what God wants. That is repentance.
Before now, Nigerian Church was praying and fasting but it was not repenting. What God wants is repentance. The prayer and fasting would only make sense if accompanied with genuine repentance.
There are two key areas where repentance is urgently required. One is “hero worship” and the other is worship of mammon. The honor and glory due to God is given to “men of God” and money. Other evils flow from these two major ones.
Due to lack of repentance, in 2015, God released Nebuchadnezzar upon the land. Look at the man very well. He carries the spirit of Nebuchadnezzar. He is a law to himself and has no regard for anybody or any institution. Whoever he likes, he kills, the one he does not kill, he locks up regardless of what courts say. One of the signs of God’s judgment upon the nation is the emergence of Nebuchadnezzar in Nigeria. If God was not angry, he never could have emerged as president.
When Nebuchadnezzar appeared in the land of Judah, two disasters occurred:
1. The land and the people went into bondage
2. The temple was destroyed
The possibility of the two occurring in Nigeria is now a reality. However, we can get rid of the spirit of Nebuchadnezzar through Repentance. Once we get repentance right with God, the season of judgment shall not be prolonged.
That is why we must “produce fruits meet for repentance”. We must pronounce judgment on all evils in the Church. If God does not judge the Church, He cannot judge the world. There is too much unrighteousness in the Body of Christ. There is greed, covetousness, theft, pride, immoralities, hero worship, vanity, abuse of power and authority, rebellion against God, lies, hypocrisy, manipulations and, so on.
As we pronounce judgment on the Church, we must also pronounce judgment on the world. All the evils in the land and all evil doers should be judged. If we want righteousness in Nigeria, we must cry for God’s judgment.
Is. 26: 9 – 11 With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
10 Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.
11 LORD, when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them.
You want to see righteousness in the Church? Pray for God’s judgment.
You want to see righteousness in Nigeria? Pray for God’s judgment.
Mercy does not teach man righteousness; it is judgment that does it.
We are in the Season of Divine Visitation. God wants righteousness to spring forth in our land. The key is judgment. God has to judge, starting from the Church. Pray for judgment.
By the way, when Nebuchadnezzar appeared in the Bible, God also released Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Could God have released Nebuchadnezzar on our land and yet withheld Daniel and co from us? Not likely. That would not have been consistent with God’s nature. In judgment He remembers mercy. Pray, who is our Daniel, who was supposed to make Nebuchadnezzar in our land fall before Jehovah? Who are our Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego? They are there. Look well, you will see them.
Why hasn’t Nebuchadnezzar in our land fallen down and acknowledged that Jesus is Lord? Well, there is something that made Daniel the great Daniel that we know. It is called sanctification. Daniel and his three friends refused to be defiled. Did our Daniel, Shadrach, Meshack and Abednego defile themselves by eating of the king’s meat and drinking of his wine?
The land is ripe for God’s judgment. Pray it to come to pass.
Your brother,
Bosun
