MONDAY 3RD FEBRUARY, 2020

Day 1

Repent for neglect of God's Word and counsel –
Prayers of Daniel and Nehemiah (Dan 9:1-19; Neh 9:1-38)

Isaiah 66: 2 - … but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

Jeremiah 7: 23 - But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

  • The current distress in the land could have been avoided had we, as Christians, heeded the warning of God. In 2014, God specifically warned us that a certain political party should not be supported by Christians. Many Christians, with some church leaders, not only rejected that message but actually attacked it strongly.  May we confess and ask God’s forgiveness for ignoring His warning. 1 John 1: 8 - 10
  • In 2018, God sent another warning that the Church should be restructured before December of the same year else Christians would lose control of the 2019 elections. Again, the Church not only ignored that warning but some of our leaders condemned it.

Let us specifically ask God’s forgiveness for our stubborn heart and stiff neck.  Ps. 51: 10 - 12

  • God raised Elders from all the parts of the country to give counsel and admonition to the Church.  We have both rejected their admonition and also reproached them.  May we confess and ask forgiveness.
1: 6 - But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers?...
  • The Lord has warned, “No man can serve two masters” (Matt. 6: 24), yet in Nigeria we have turned Christianity into the worship of mammon. It is necessary to confess and repent.
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world”.1 John 2: 15-17.  We have prided ourselves in the garments of the world, often struggling to compete with or conform to the world.  Rarely have we paid attention to raising disciples in the image of Jesus Christ.  Let us confess and ask forgiveness.
  • 2 Chro. 7: 14 – We and our leaders have ignored humility and the turning away from wicked ways, yet have kept praying and fasting. God has said, “Nigerian Christians are praying and fasting but, they are not repenting.” May we ask forgiveness for pride and arrogance in the Church.
  • Mark 16: 15 - And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
The Nigeria Church has gradually ignored evangelism and soul winning while placing premium on prosperity and entertainment in the sanctuary. The Great Commission has been ignored, and missions and missionaries are suffering.  May we confess and turn from this great disobedience to the command of the Lord.
  • John 17: 21 – The call of God to the Nigeria Church is, “That they all may be one”.However, the Church is divided along lines of denomination, ethnicity, and region.  May God forgive this sin of disunity and heal us.
  • May we also ask repentance from the mystery of iniquity instituted by the Babylonian church to enhance satanic schemes.  2 Thess. 2:7-12.
  • May we repent of the Mystery of Iniquity that we have instituted in Nigeria, grieving the heart of God.
  • Using the gifts and institutions of God, we have validated satanic schemes and decrees of hell over the nation and individuals in the following areas:
  • in politics and governance, occult leaders ratified by the Church have enthroned since 2015 and also in the 2019 elections.
  • in traditional institutions, our participation and ratification of their ways have condemned us.
  • May we bring up before the Lord some of the other specific sins that have testified specifically against the Church in Nigeria:
  • An ultimate hardness of heart from our persistent wicked ways
  • Rebellion – Ezk. 43:7-8: setting our human thresholds by His thresholds
  • Revelry: Enjoying sinful behaviour and lifestyle, insisting that it is ‘modern’ and acceptable. Ex. 32:1-6.
  • Three other iniquities have come out of the above:

a) Attributing the word of God to an idol

b) Raising an altar to the idol.

c) Instituting a feast to the idol.

  • Religion: Betrayal of the Lord’s cause. Like Judah, we have sold out the Prince of Peace for 30 shekels of silver.
  • In 1 Cor. 5:1-8, the Lord warned against a company that should ordinarily not be associated with His Name as ‘Christians,’ but now we have them in their numbers as Bishops and G.O’s and national leaders.  Partaking with them, we also have become, like them,
  • Covetous people.
  • Idolaters of self, of man, of mammon.
  • Extortioners
  • Any other prayer point as led by the Spirit.

Day 2

Repent for neglect of persecuted Christians (Matt 25:41-46; Ephesians 6:19-20)

Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard. Pro. 21: 13

  • 13: 3 – Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; andthem which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
While some Christians are persecuted and hounded to death in the country, others are celebrating as if it does not concern them. Let us repent of this great selfishness and lack of concern for the Body of Christ.
  • 1 Cor. 12: 26 - And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.
Let us repent of the lack of burden in the Church to pray for persecuted Christians as well as the failure to organize to defend them.  May God pour upon us the burden to pray for persecuted Christians.
  • James 1: 27 - Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, andto keep himself unspotted from the world.
Let us repent of the neglect of persecuted Christians in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps. Widows and orphans at the camps are suffering terribly while other Christians are throwing “parties” in their churches.
  • 2 Thes. 1: 6 - Seeing it isa righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
As God receives our repentance, may He also recompense tribulation to all that trouble and persecute Christians in Nigeria, especially in the North.
  • 2 Cor. 1: 3 -4 Blessed beGod, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfortthem which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
Pray divine comfort and consolation to all that have been negatively impacted by the persecutions in Nigeria. Pray that God will grant them healing and strength, and pour the joy of the Lord into their hearts.
  • 15: 13 - But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
Pray that every structure supporting the persecution of Christians in Nigeria should be rooted out by the Almighty God.
  • The Christian Social Movement of Nigeria (CSMN) with NCEF is working to send relief to persecuted Christians in IDP camps. Pray that this initiative as well as similar efforts by individuals and other organizations shall receive the support of the Church, and that wicked people shall not frustrate it nor Satan hinder it.

1 Thes. 2: 18 Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.

  • 1 Sam. 30: 8 - And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all
Let us pray that Nigerian Christians shall pursue their enemies, overtake them and, without fail, recover all that they have lost.
  • Any other prayer point as led by the Spirit.

Day 3

Repent for defilement of sanctuary (Matt 21:12-14; 1 Kings 18:19; Ezr 9:1-15)

Jeremiah 7: 9-12 Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not; 10And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations? 11Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD. 12But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.

  • 21: 13 - And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
Let us repent of greed, covetousness, theft, corruption prevalent in the Church, and especially its defilement of the sanctuary through the leadership.
  • Ezekiel 8: 6 - He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? eventhe great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, andthou shalt see greater abominations.
May we repent of the conspiracies, strife, contentions, and evil associations in the Church and the struggle for wealth, influence and recognition.
  • Nehemiah 13: 28 – 29 And oneof the sons of Joiada, the son of Eliashib the high priest, wasson in law to Sanballat the Horonite: therefore I chased him from me. 29Remember them, O my God, because they have defiled the priesthood, and the covenant of the priesthood, and of the Levites.
Despite the devastations inflicted upon Christians in Nigeria, some of us, like Sanballat and Tobias, have sworn allegiance to the persecutors and enemies of Christ.   This also is defilement of the sanctuary.
  • Nahum 3: 4 – 6 Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts. 5Behold, I amagainst thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame. 6And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.
May we repent of the witchcraft, occult, and other works of Satan that have been brought into the Church by religious leaders seeking to draw people after them.  May we dissociate the Nigeria Church from these workers of darkness and pray that God will uncover their skirts and expose all of them.
  • 26: 14 – 15 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, 15And said unto them,What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
There have been reported cases of church leaders receiving money from the Islamists to compromise the Church. It is the spirit of Judas.  May God forgive us also for this defilement of the sanctuary.
  • 2 Cor. 11: 13 – 15 For such arefalse apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15Therefore it isno great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
We have had ministers of the gospel openly working for and defending the Islamists. They in turn have been defended by other Christians and ministers who canvass prayers for them.  For this reproach also, may we request God’s mercy upon His people.
  • Malachi 2: 7 – 9 For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he isthe messenger of the LORD of hosts. 8But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts. 9Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.
As leaders, some of us have not stood for the truth and for righteousness, which has contributed greatly to the problems of Christianity in Nigeria.  For this defilement of the sanctuary also, may God be merciful.
  • Any other prayer point as led by the Spirit.

THURSDAY 6TH FEBRUARY, 2020

Day 4

Repent for failure of Christians to season the land as salt and maintain Godly standard of morality and truth. (Deut 21:1-8; Psa 74:1-23)

Matt. 5: 13 – 16 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

  • Acts 13: 47 - For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying,I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
The Lord commanded Christians to shine as light to the Gentiles. In Nigeria today, despite having millions of Christians, immorality, perversion and all manners of abominations fill the land.  We repent for the failure to be light in Nigeria.
  • Malachi 2: 15 -And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
God ordained marriage so that Godly seeds can come forth. Today, there is rebellion, crime, immorality among the youths, even in the Church.  We need to repent of our failure to raise Godly seed in the land. Without Godly seeds, there is no Godly future for the land.
  • Leviticus 18: 24 – 26 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: 25And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. 26Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit anyof these abominations; neitherany of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
Homosexuality, lesbianism and other perversions are creeping into the country while the Church has no Godly response. In the last episode of the international lewd Big Brother show, all the participants reportedly identified as Christians.  The Church has failed to teach holiness and sanctification. May God forgive this also.
  • 54: 13 - And all thy children shall betaught of the LORD; and great shall bethe peace of thy children.
The Church may have been building Godly seeds through education, like the early missionaries.  Sadly, we have seen education more as business than as a missionary field, often charging fees that many in the church cannot afford.
  • Isaiah 9: 6 - For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
The Government upon the shoulder represents the Body of Christ. Rather than provide Godly leadership for Nigeria, we have helped the anti-Christ to rule the country. Now the land is in agony and the Church has no answer.  May we repent of every evil political decision taken by Christians that has brought destruction to Nigeria.
  • Acts 10: 38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Jesus went about doing good. The poor and the needy in the land are not feeling the positive impact of the Church.  We have not been the salt we should be.  May God be merciful unto us.
Acts 5: 11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.
Rather than conduct Christianity in a manner that will compel people to fear God, Christianity has become a joke in Nigeria, and comedians make fun of God.
May we repent our misrepresentation of God.
  • Any other prayer point as led by the Spirit.

FRIDAY 7TH FEBRUARY, 2020

Day 5

Repent for disunity in the Body of Christ and weakness before the enemy (Ps. 133:1-3; 1 Cor 3:1-10; Matt 18:18-20)

John 13: 14 – 15 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. 15For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

  • John 17: 21 - That they all may be one; as thou, Father, artin me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
Due to self-seeking, the various arms of the Church are not one.
May we repent for the strife, discord, spiritual pride and denominational envy that produce disunity in the Church.
  • John 13: 35 By this shall all menknow that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
The lack of love amongst Christians has diminished mutual respect amongst Christians. Some assemblies look down on others while some envy others. May we repent of the failure to demonstrate the love of Christ in the Church.
  • 1 Cor. 3: 3-4 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there isamong you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? 4For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I amof Apollos; are ye not carnal?
The proliferation of churches in Universities and other institutions of higher learning has exacerbated Christian disunity, especially amongst Christian youths. Let us repent of this and pray that Campus interdenominational fellowships like NIFES and IFES, etc, will grow stronger to break down every wall of division amongst Christian youths.
  • Joshua 7: 8 - O Lord, what shall I say, when Israel turneth their backs before their enemies!
Due to moral laxity in the Church, Christians cannot stand before their enemies. The permissive and indulgent attitude in the Church towards sin gave room for the spirit of Achan to operate and weaken Christianity. Christians now depend on foreign countries to fight for the Nigerian Church.
Let us confess and repent of gross permissiveness and moral laxity in the Church that has divided the Church and weakened Christian unity.
  • Philipians 2: 5 - Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Unity grows in an atmosphere of humility and obedience to the will of God.
Let us repent of every pride and arrogance in the Church that is at the root of the contentions and competition amongst brethren.
  • Luke 18: 1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end,that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
To sustain the national prayer tempo, a 24/7 prayer scheme has been conceived, to continue from after the Week of National Repentance. Pray that God shall stir the spirit of His people to participate and be faithful in the prayers. Visit csmnigeria.org to sign in to the prayers.

Day 6

Take authority over forces of violence and bloodshed in the land (Esth 3:7-15; Acts 12:1-4; 8:8-24)

Matt. 18: 18 – 20 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 19Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. 20For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

  • 68: 1 – 3 Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.  2As smoke is driven away, sodrive themaway: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. 3But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.
Call upon God to arise and scatter His enemies, cancelling all Haman-type plots and calendars to destroy the people of God at about Easter. Acts 12:1-5; Esther 4:1-17
  • Zechariah 1: 18 – 21 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns. 19And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What bethese? And he answered me, These arethe horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem. 20And the LORD shewed me four carpenters. 21Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.
Let us pray that God will dispatch the four carpenters of heaven to destroy all the powers of darkness attacking Christianity in Nigeria.
  • 11: 6 - Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall bethe portion of their cup.

Isaiah 29: 6 - Thou shalt be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.

Execute judgment on the wicked.

  • 2 – Read entire Psalm and pray
  • 12: 29 - Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
Bind every satanic strongman operating in Nigeria or from foreign nations to wage war on the people of God in Nigeria
  • 105: 24 And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.
Pray that God will increase His people and make them stronger and mightier than their enemies in the economy, politics, education, media, religion, etc.
  • 12: 10 – 11 “And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
Proclaim the victory of Christ over the enemies of God in Nigeria.
