Prayer Points For The Week: Feb 27 – Mar 6, 2021

PRAYER POINTS FOR THE 24/7 PRAYER CHAIN FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST & NIGERIA, Feb 27- Mar 6, 2021

THANKSGIVING: “If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:” (Psalms 124:2)

O, let’s give God praise that Nigeria still exists, that the Church and not the gates of hell has prevailed. Thank God for our individual lives and our salvation; and also for the rising of Nigerians and persons of Nigerian descent to great heights across the globe; even if we are yet to get our act together within Nigeria. Please also thank God MIGHTILY for the release of the Kankara students with no reported loss of life.

REPENTANCE

Let’s seek forgiveness for our individual sins as well as the bloodshed, oppression of students and young ones, persisting cultism, occultism, idolatry and other sins of our nation.

OTHER PRAYERS: THEME – O LORD, PLEASE, BRING FORTH & ACTIVATE THE PEOPLE WE NEED

  • “Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee. And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee,...and thou shalt be a blessing” (Gen 12.1-2)

So many believers seem to be entangled in diverse things and places besides where God wants them to be, where they can make the greatest impact on God’s kingdom and on present and future generations. Pray that all such will “get thee out” and be fully available to God

  • “And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.” (Gen 32.24)

It took Jacob’s persistent wrestling for Israel to start unfolding. It took Hannah and Simeon’s separation and prevalence in prayer for the long promised Messiah to come. Pray that God will raise the men and women who will separate themselves and wrestle “until the breaking of the day” for Nigeria

  • “There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back anything from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” (Gen 39.11)

Reuben and others were sinning regularly; so much Reuben attracted a curse upon himself rather than blessings from Jacob. Joseph didn’t join them but rather “Joseph brought unto his father their evil report” (Gen 37.2). Even far away from home, he defiantly refused to sin. By this, he got positioned to bring to pass what God had since promised Abraham. Pray that God will stir up the men and women in the economy, the polity, and even within ministries/denominations that will defiantly refuse to sin, and become God’s instruments for fulfilling His great plans for Nigeria.

  • “Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season” (Heb 11.25)

Moses could have remained a highly favoured part of Pharaoh’s palace, basking in matchless luxury. He forsook all that in fiery patriotic zeal. Though he was unable to deliver by himself, being available, God made him able as “a god to Pharaoh”. Pray that God will stir the hearts of Christians that can be “a god to Pharaoh” of our generation wherever such a Pharaoh is: Federal, State, LGA, traditional/community, private sector, terrorist camp, outside Nigeria etc

  • Joshua had African blood. He was of the tribe of Ephraim, whose mother was African! We are Africans with Jesus Christ as our Father. Pray that God will raise the Joshua that will take us into and commence possession of our Promise Land – the best we can be as a nation, the Church. Also, pray that God will give you grace to be a Joshua unto your family, community and beyond.
  • Pray for Leah Sharibu's release, other Christians in similar situation and all believers in the hands of terrorists, kidnappers and bandits. Pray that God will expose, disgrace and nullify those behind these.
  • Pray other prayers as the Spirit of God leads you.
