THANKSGIVING: Psa_34:1 “I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth” God truly derives ALL of our praise and still more. We cannot even give Him enough. Let’s give thanks to God. But for His grace and power, Nigeria may have since become history. You and I too would have gone.
REPENTANCE: Also, ask God for mercy and forgiveness for all of your sins, those of your family, the Church and Nigeria; pray for grace to "turn from...wicked ways" and live in obedience; that our land may be healed (2 Chron. 7.14). Seek God’s help for sustained righteousness in the land.
FOCUS OF THE WEEK: Rooting out undesirables and planting the desirables
PRAYER POINTS:
Jer. 1:10 “See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant” Thank God for such authority that He has given us; over and above elected officials and legal authorities. Repent also of any slackness in using it.
Raise the name of Jesus Christ and command every knee – physical and spiritual – to bow across the length and breadth of Nigeria. Plead the blood of Jesus Christ and sanctify the length and breadth, heights and depths of the nation; sanctify State House Aso Rock, every Government House, every traditional throne including the Caliphates and Emirates, every inch of territory including Sambisa Forest; even the firmaments and elements.
Mat_15:13 “Every plant, which My heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up”
- By this word, command everything God has not planted in the following places to be rooted out and thrown down. Add more such as you remember:
- State House, Aso Rock Abuja; every Government House across the 36 States; all traditional thrones
- The Executive, Legislature and Judiciary at Federal, State and LGA levels
- The Political parties, major and minor, ruling and opposition
- The business landscape and private sector
- All forests including Sambisa, hills, valleys, creeks, and every inch of Nigeria’s territory and waters
- Our universities, including the cults, occults, immorality
- *** In the hearts of men, imaginations, evil visions and ambitions, philosophies, doctrines of devils etc
- 1:10“I have…set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root …, to build, and to plant” In all of the above areas and others such as you remember, by decrees and your proclamations as God’s image and likeness build and plant righteousness, peace, joy and all that will glorify God
Isa_49:25 “But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contends with thee, and I will save thy children.” Pray that God will fulfill this promise, deliver Leah Sharibu, the train attack abductees, others in captivity and save our children from any more abduction, gruesome killings for believing and confessing Jesus Christ. Thank God mightily also for the ABU 200L student released last week after 2 years in captivity
MATTERS ARISING IN THE NATION: Pray for other matters arising in the nation as observed or as the Spirit of God leads; cast down evil imaginations that lead men to attack airports, trains, etc. Pray that in the ongoing political party primaries etc, God’s counsel shall stand in all irrespective of what the hearts of men have devised; pray for an end to the war in Ukraine; pray for Israel etc.; and give thanks and praise to God.

- Eze_21:27“I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him” Leadership is so crucial to the peace and progress of Nigeria and the peaceable practice and advancement of the Christian faith. As the party primaries approach, partner with God to enthrone His choice of leader by decreeing that all evil and incapable candidates be blocked, overturned, cut off and God’s choice alone be enthroned over Nigeria.
